Graceful Geraniums

This geranium graces my front porch. Truly an inviting and hearty plant and one of my favorites. You can see this plant in windows all over Europe. One of my fondest memories...

Piano Lesson - SOLD

I was taken by the reflected light in this scene and kept to a very limited palette.  I found the abstract quality, especially the finger/piano key area visually dramatic.  I also like how the warms and limited cools played off of each other.

Old Friends - SOLD

A beautiful day for old friends to encounter a chance meeting and linger longer than usual in such a lovely atmosphere.  Thanks to dear friend Susan for allowing me to use her photograph which was taken quite some time ago.  She shared this one and several others with me from her trips to Europe and I've never forgotten how it made me feel when I first saw it.  Now even more so...

Quiet

This is the first of more prints to come that I'll be selling in my Etsy shop "AndolsekArt".  I love sketching.  I'm not able to paint (the kitchen is coming along) because the studio is 'the kitchen', literally.  And I've been thinking about doing this for sometime.  Btw, I have other prints available ($25.00/print) on my website under Digital.

So I bought this really cool poncho from this Etsy shop Ile Aiye and asked her for permission to use her photos as I just loved the kind of fashion statements she was making with her work.  Her work is gorgeous and fun!  I can't wait to get mine.  Go check out her work by clicking on her shop name above (in bold).  And please check out the first print "Quiet" while in Etsy.  Enjoy!

Kitchen's beginnings

We are in the throws of the beginnings... of the kitchen that is. That's Tony on the right, his boss Scott, SBC Development, Inc (a man of his word) and he are our lifesavers.  While Tony with one of his crew started the work on the kitchen, I asked if I could take a 'cheese' shot and he was obviously laughing - a very good way to start the day.  This has been a very looooonnnng process, but I think we've reached the peak, the turning point for it to finally come together and quickly at that - thanks Scott.  The studio is a crowded messy area as it 'is' the temporary kitchen.  I wanted to take more photos, but honestly after all of this time, I think I'll just let them do their thing.  I am so looking forward to cooking 'real' food that's good for us.  Our eating habits aren't the greatest at this point.  Pizza anyone!  I really appreciate everyone sticking with me all of this time.  Thanks lots!

Ready, Set, Go

This little girl was having a ball.  Her Mom was on the beach in her chair, lollygagging with 'her toys' while the little one frolicked like the joyful one that she was.  She was alone, but so not lonely.  Amusing herself with dancing, darting in and out of the waves to see if she would get caught (thus the title), and throwing water up in the air while twirling.  Oh the joy!  Completely delighted to be on the beach...

...as was I and especially glad I brought the good Canon camera.

Starting work on the kitchen this week.  Will try to get some picts of before and afters. We are jam packed in our small condo, but we still love it.  Should take a bit longer than a month for that part of the work to be completed.  The studio is now a make-shift kitchen with all kinds of bins on the patio.  Hmmm-m-m-m, maybe I shouldn't blog any of those picts after all.  Thank God for sketching and pochades.

Thanks for viewing my work!

Little Flower Pot

I have to confess that this piece was done before the move...  I am 'still' and will be continually working on getting our home in condition to call it that for awhile.

So in the meantime, thought I'd post this cute little flower pot.  I've never gotten over seeing them in all of the windows in countries like Germany, Switzerland, Austria.  It's so, gosh what's the word - delightful, yes, that's how I feel when I see them in windows.  They just make me happy and that cannot be anything but good.  Enjoy them all this summer.

Update...

A quick update on the status of where we're at at this point in our move from super dry desert to what I consider 'a slice of Heaven on Earth' - the beach.

I took two shots of my very small, but adorable studio and put one in of the beach cause who wouldn't want downsize for this?

Lots of life things still going on so will have to keep at it until it's done.  That's ok and I knew it going in.  In the meantime, organizing, trying to find things that I've literally lost twice and found again (yeah!), and so so much more.  Also trying with many successful attempts to meander to the beach.

My fav beaches are ones with mountains on one side and ocean on the other, like Kailua-Kona in HI and most of Cali's shores.  Newport, RI/Providence/Martha's Vineyard shores are great, but freezing.  So guess who wins...  This is one long beachfront where you can just keep walking and not have to turn around.

Thanking God with all my heart for our many blessings as I pinch myself daily.  What a dream!

S. F. Farmers Market - SOLD

While in San Francisco, we wandered off towards the weekend market area with lots of fresh fruits.  Saw this dude leaning in for his pick of the crop.  I bet it was delish!
