Floral Patterns - SOLD
An orchestration of colors, shapes and sizes of abstraction. Flowers/plants are remarkable with a variety that's almost impossible to list.
It was fun to play with my globs of glorious paint. Every time it's like a new experience. I could say that I don't know what it is about oil that has always had me so enamored, but I do and really the list would and could go on forever and ever... Great stuff!

Ladybug - SOLD
This little gem would look great in a child's room. Ladybug's are just so cool right. Who doesn't love them... Even squeamish little girls aren't afraid of them, but let them crawl around without a second thought.
They're like little jewels. Plus they keep my roses looking really beautiful.
However, I had to wonder why on earth I kept thinking that I 'had' to paint one. I keep seeing ladybugs everywhere. When on the beach with my honey, we saw a little boy flying a ladybug kite, I received some junk mail, yup ladybugs on it, etc etc. Whenever this happens, I don't fight it. I do believe that each painting has a person it's created for so I just go with it. I'm always glad I did.

Flip Flops - SOLD
So regarding flip flops, I literally wear them all year round, well sometimes I do need warm fuzzy slippers in our Cali winters, but most of the time these work. Have them on right now.
I also wanted to share a super great tool below for cleaning brushes. They're really for make-up brushes, but when I stumbled upon them I knew they'd be great for my oil brushes. I have at times (my bad) been guilty (cause in a hurry) of cleaning an oil brush with my cleaning liquid in the palm of my hand. Now I absolutely know NOT to do this, but we all get sloppy at times. So when I found this, I was like, oh yeah I had to have it (think TV commercial). Works really great!
I put the link to Target below. They don't sell it in the store so I ordered online and picked it up. With that said, there are apparently lots of different models out there after a google search, but the options of different size nubs on this one as well as a better way to hold it, sold me on it. Hope everyone has an accomplished day today, ta!

Chocolate Ice Cream Cone - SOLD
Every summer I was (past tense) making my own chocolate ice cream in my KitchenAid Mixer, my fav. I would have a cone every single night. I was hooked... bad. This piece of artwork is one of them.
However, I finally realized I had to stop making it cause well, one, it has too much sugar to eat on a daily basis and two, it has too many calories.
So now, when I really really need chocolate ice cream, I get my fix either at Ventura Harbor or The Collection's Ben & Jerry's. B&J's has one called, 'Chocolate Therapy'. Yup that says it all! Happy yummy summer...

Beached
Buy it at AndolsekArt on Etsy!
I
don't have a boat, never have, but I love sailing, lolly-gagging,
dreaming, listening to water lap onto the sides, hanging over the edge
and watching the waves, etc. I really don't know of anyone that doesn't
like to be around boats, beached or otherwise. Having a thing for
water, beaches, boats brings life's stresses to a lovely standstill.
Deep sigh! So boats, yup love them.

"Chimney Rock" - SOLD
There's a story behind this particular painting. This little miniature is not the original as that was a 9x12 en plein air excursion with a dear friend Kazuko. I decided to paint it again in the studio in reverse, large to small. I have to say, I enjoyed it as much this time around as the first.
She wanted to take her dog with us and romp around and not paint this time around. She knew I preferred to listen to birds (not words) & truly enjoy being outdoors when I was painting and she honored that. That was her preference as well. It was definitely a zone day for me.
This was the last time we went plein air painting together as she passed away from the horrid c word not long after. Every time I look at it I smile. I miss her, but I am so glad I have the original here in my studio to enjoy and remember her. Art IS so very personal on every level isn't it.

'Geraniums' - SOLD
Geraniums are such a hardy flower and really grow quite prolific here in Cali. They remind me of Europe with their lovely windows adorned with boxes full of welcoming flowers. There are some very old ones here in Ventura Harbor. I couldn't believe how big they are with thick stalks. So if you're looking for a plant that can give you an easy time of it, this might be just the one.
