No Loitering location is The Cannery at Del Monte Square in San Francisco, CA. The shadows stopped me dead. I knew I had to capture this shot the moment I saw it. This piece has painted sides which enables the viewer to appreciate the experience from every angle. It is ready to hang. I might call this painterly realism as well.
$325.00, 0il on board, 16 x 12 x 1, painted sides, ready to hang.
I love "No Loitering". I think I recognize that typeface! Nicely done.
ReplyDeleteI really like the tightness and the looseness in combination. I did a street scene like that with one gigantic beer sign painted realistically and the rest loose. Most people were confused, but I really like the contrast. "Painterly realism"...sounds great to me!
ReplyDeleteFabulous. Strong and dramatic. Great colors.
ReplyDeleteI was taken by the color variation within the shadows and the really rich red/orange of the wall. A very nice piece!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful painting. The red is captured really well, and looks so thick and rich
ReplyDeleteI agree with all that was said. It's really a nice piece!
ReplyDeleteShadows are like ghosts... We can see them and know there is something tangible they are reflecting, but the shadow itself is hard to define. You did a great job of it though, Barb. Truly... to capture the color, shape, and nature of a shadow is hard enough in the mind; must be really challenging on canvas. Great job!
